Birthday Wishlist for Busy Moms
Guys, my birthday is just 2 weeks away! I'm excited! Is that weird? Am I too old to be excited about birthdays? Eh, oh well. My husband tells me that I am the worst person to shop for. He thinks my picks are far too practical and often ends up opting for things that don't really get much use. The thing is I hate clutter and I value presents that make my life easier/better. So I put together my busy mom birthday wishlist for everyone to see. Hopefully, he'll read this post too (wink, wink)!!
I don't know about you, but the shower is my refuge. It is my time to be alone with my thoughts and relax. The kids are usually asleep and I get to be myself for 15 minutes instead of mommy. I love the fresh clean scent of Philosophy products and the amazing impact it has on my skin. If I got this set and some time alone for a shower or dare I say it, even a bath, I would be in heaven!
Superluxeâ„¢ Womens Mom Life Is The Best Life Tri-Blend Dolman T-Shirt
I have had many jobs and many roles in life, but there is none I am prouder of than being a mom. Having the opportunity to advertise by favorite job while I run around town is everything. My brother in law got me a long sleeve #momlife shirt for Christmas, but this one would be perfect as the weather gets warmer!
Glitzy Glam Gold Insulated Water Bottle I Dont Sweat I Shine
I love working out and I know the value of drinking water throughout the day. I also know that my son has pretty much adopted my old generic water bottle. This water bottle is cute and functional all at the same time! This is definitely the kind of water bottle I'd love to take with me on outings with the family, to dance class, and pretty much anywhere. A girls gotta have some glitter!
Vionic with Orthaheel Lizbeth Women's Sandal
So I may not be old enough to hate birthdays, but I am old enough to appreciate a comfortable sandal! As a mom, outings with the kids require a lot of walking, and carrying. A trip to the zoo or park can mean hours on your feet. A year or 2 ago I bought a pair of Vionic sandals with Orthaheel and I realized what a huge impact they had not only on my fee but on my overall posture. I could easily handle long days at the amusement park or boardwalk. Plus the sandals actually look cute! I could definitely use more of that in my life.
Heloise Women's A-Line Sleeveless Pleated Little Cocktail Party Dress
The thing about moms is we have mom guilt. If you ask me if I want to go out and leave the kids with a sitter, I suddenly feel guilty about not spending all my free time with them. I know we'll have a good time and I know it's so important for our marriage, but faced with a choice, it is often hard to pick date night. The perfect gift would be to not give me a choice. Buy me a dress, pick a date and restaurant, and tell me were going. The minute it goes from a "do you want to" to a "I am taking you out" it let's me off the hook. It's not me choosing to give up some time with the kids, the decision is made. Same outcome, but easier on my mind.
Fashion Road Womens Luxury Evening Wedding Party Purse Clutch Rhinestone Satin Pleated Handbag Wallet
Along those same lines, a bag that cannot possibly be used when with the kids is also a good pick. What woman would want to receive a new purse and then never get to use it? Not I! Get me a purse that can only fit the essentials and then date night is inevitable. I love this one because it has some sparkle and also a chain strap. Perfect for weddings and other events.
So that's my list of wants for my birthday. Also, note that I would never turn my head at jewelry, lol. But on the flip side, its definitely not required. While I like shiny things, I do sometimes feel like I never get a chance to wear everything I own.
What would you add to your birthday wishlist? Let me know in the comments. I am definitely open to suggestions!
Cheers,
Emily
