Making the Most Out Of Your Printable Designs
One of my favorite businesses for busy moms is selling printables on Etsy. You can work on it in the margins of your day even if you don’t have a lot of time. It doesn’t cost anything except the 20 cent listing fee, and once you create your designs, you can keep selling them again and again with no additional input from you.
But what’s even better than just selling your printables on Etsy, is re-using those same designs on other platforms. That means you can create your design once, and sell it on multiple different platforms to multiple different audiences.
For example, let’s say you are selling printable invitations on Etsy. You can use sites like Corjl or Templett to make your invitations editable by the customer. This allows you to upload the basic template of your invitation to the site and the customer can input their own info including photos so that you don’t have to do any additional work once the sale is complete.
You can take this exact same invitation template and upload it onto a print on demand site like Zazzle and create an additional stream of income with minimal additional work. Customers on Zazzle can then input their info and order prints of your invitation straight from the site.
The Etsy listing is great for craftier shoppers, shoppers who don’t mind printing invitations out themselves. It’s also great for customers who want to just email or text the invite. Zazzle on the other hand is great for customers who want to order printed invitations all in one shot. These are customers looking for convenience.
Of course, your profit on the Zazzle sale will be much less than on Etsy. However, for very little extra work, you can make sales you would not have otherwise made to customers who may not be shopping on Etsy but would love your designs. Listing on print on demand sites is free, so unlike on Etsy, if a design doesn’t sell you are not even out the 20 cent listing fee.
This doesn’t just work for invitations, print on demand sites can create other items as well. You can use them to sell your printable wall art designs, water bottle labels for parties, wine bottle labels, stickers and more.
Not every print on demand site prints on every type of item, so it is important to check out what products are available before you start registering on a specific platform. My favorites are Zazzle and Redbubble based on the types of items they sell. You can check out my Zazzle Shop here.
You might be selling art prints on Etsy which you can now put onto a variety of items using the print on demand sites. You can put your art on clothes, shower curtains, phone cases, duffle bags, postcards, buttons, and so much more.
If you haven’t started an Etsy shop yet, there is no time like the present. From April 7 - 10, 2022, my favorite printable selling course is on sale for $50 off. This course walks you through everything from setting up your shop, designing products, creating listing and marketing those listings. They even save you time by providing templates for your printable designs.
They make a super simple and easy side hustle even easier. With things getting more and more expense these days, making a little extra cash in the margins of your day can’t hurt. Check out the course now.
And, if you are reading this after the 10th, don’t worry. You can still follow the link and get all the info about the course and when the next big sale is. Just sign up for the waitlist.
