What to Create for Your Print On Demand or Etsy Shop This Spring

Although with the snow we’ve been having you might not be able to tell, but Spring is coming very soon. That’s means it’s time to start creating Spring products for your shops so that they can be successfully categorized by your platforms by the time people start searching for them.

Below are some ideas of things you can create in preparation for spring shoppers for both print on demand sites and as printables.

St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick’s Day is a super fun holiday to create for. You can can create tags or treat bag toppers for giving out candies at school or St Patrick’s Day parties. I have printable treat bag toppers in my Etsy shop or you can create gift tags on Zazzle. You can also create treat bag stickers.

You can also create fun St Patrick’s day home decor items or t-shirts. Decor items can include throw pillows, kitchen towels, bathroom towels, wall art, art for the mantel, or candles.

You can also create St Patrick’s Day Cards to send out since people are still social distancing and in lockdown in some areas.

Easter

An even bigger holiday you can create for is Easter. Similar to St Patrick’s Day, you can create home decor items and shirts for this holiday. I have a few Easter Egg hunt shirts and decor items in my Zazzle shop.

Easter is also a great time for sending out greeting cards. You can create generic image cards as well as photo cards either for print on demand or to be sent as digital files.

Creating Easter tote bags can be great for kiddos doing Easter Egg hunts as they are much easier to carry around than baskets. Parents can save the baskets for the Easter bunny.

Spring Cleaning

If you are super organized or have developed a spring cleaning process over the years, creating a spring cleaning guide or binder can be a great product to introduce to your shop. People love having guides to complete these kinds of tasks so that they know they are doing the job right and not forgetting anything. They like to be able to check things off.

On the other hand, few people actually want to take the time to create the list or the guide. You can help a whole lot of homemakers by providing this kind of product.

You can also create spring cleaning shirts or sweatshirts for moms or even the whole family. Maybe it will help the whole family get on board, who knows?

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a great holiday for print on demand shops. You can create cards and shirts, jewelry boxes and tons of personalized items. The great thing about mother’s day is that really, anything goes.

Any interest or profession or hobby that a mom can have, can be used to create a mother’s day gift. So you can create cooking items, teacher items, doctor items, lawyer items, knitting items… the list is endless.

Make sure that if you have items in your shop that can be sold at anytime but would also make good Mother’s Day gifts, you change up the tags. Swapping out a few tags temporarily to include mothers day tags can help your item come up in search for Mother’s Day shoppers.

Graduations

Once we get to spring, graduations come shortly thereafter. Now is a great time to create gifts for the grad, t-shirts for graduates and their families, signs that can be personalized or just generic signs, and graduation announcement cards.

You can also create items for graduation parties, hoping that we are able to have at least small get-togethers at that time. This can include graduation party favors, personalized plates and decor items, and anything else you might need for a party. Zazzle is a great site for creating these types of products.

Gifts can include personalized clocks, cards, jewelry boxes, watches, inspirational quotes, and so much more. You don’t have to just think college or high school graduation either. There’s pre-k graduation, kindergarten graduation, and middle school graduation too.

Gardening

Spring is also the time when a lot of gardening starts. Creating planting or gardening guides can be great. You can also great signs for the different items being planted, or signs for the garden as a whole.

It’s a great time to start promoting gardening shirts or wall art with gardening quotes or inspiration.

Now is the time to start creating items for all of these events. The earlier you get them out there, the more time they have to rank for the particular holiday or event. You can choose to start creating for the soonest event first or skip that one and focus more on the next holiday so you have more time to get more items ranked.

Or you can just start with the thing that inspires you the most. Either way, it’s time to get creative. Between Covid and Winter in general, people have been cooped up for a long time. We are looking forward to these springtime events to bring some joy and excitement and freshness to our lives.

You can help people do that with well crafted products that people will love. Definitely reach out if you need more or more specific inspiration. Let me know if you have any other ideas in the comments!

Cheers,

Emily
