As a busy mom, I am always looking for ways to learn new skills that can help me be a more efficient, happier mom. With so much to do between work and home and hanging out with the kiddos and friends and family, anything I can learn to be more efficient is a win in my book.

Skillshare is a great place to learn all kinds of skills from business, to technology and more. Unbeknownst to many people, however, there are tons of resources that are useful for busy moms looking to manage their households.

Skillshare is an online learning platform with thousands of courses on pretty much anything you can think of. From time management to photography, they have courses to help you develop your skills.

The platform works on a subscription basis, so for $99 a year or $15 a month, you get unlimited access to the various courses they have to offer. Plus you get your first month free so you can test out whether you enjoy and make use of the platform.

Meal Prep

Whether you are looking for Salad in a Jar Ideas, green smoothie recipes, or easy meals, there are a bunch of courses for you to choose from.

Margaret Lynn Joyner has a bunch of meal prep recipes and I especially love her course on reading nutrition labels. Carly Ferguson has a great course on the basics of meal prep, so you can incorporate it into your busy life. Lori Rogers also has a quick meal planning course.

Photography

I love when my sister in law takes pictures of my kids. She is so good at capturing them at the perfect moment. However, I can’t exactly have her around every moment of every day to capture all those little moments. So developing my camera skills is essential for getting decent shots of my kids.

Skillshare has a bunch of photography classes to help me develop my skills. Nikole Mock has a class on taking the stress out of photographing kids. Mariya Popandopulo has a course on iPhone photography as does Dale McManus.

Plus there are a ton of courses on using your DSLR camera, editing pictures on your phone, and editing them on the computer. In no time you can be taking the best photos of your kids!

Productivity

Productivity is definitely one of the more popular topics on Skillshare. You can learn how to create your ideal week, how to stop procrastination, and 10 steps to boost your productivity.

Plus there are tons of courses on increasing your productivity while performing specific tasks or using certain tools. I love the course on self care for productivity.

Kids Activities

If you are looking for things to do with the kiddos, then you can find a ton of activities and art projects on Skillshare. Em Winn is one of my favorite teachers with a wide selection of art projects for the kiddos using a variety of mediums.

You can learn about face painting from professional face painter Laura Pennock or paper painting with Melanie Mezera.

Other

In addition to these topics, you can find courses on goal setting, budgeting, cooking, crafting, and a ton of other interests and hobbies. If you have a side hustle, take classes related to entrepreneur-ism. Want to pursue a creative hobby? There are classes on that too!

Just head on over to Skillshare and search on what ever topic you are interested or just browse around for inspiration. The classes are all different lengths and can be stopped and restarted at any time.

There’s even a mobile app so you can take your learning on the go and access classes wherever you happen to be when you have a few minutes free.

What’s something you’ve been dying to learn about? Let me know in the comments!

Cheers,

Emily
