There are all kinds of ways to have success selling printables and print on demand items online. Two of my favorite platforms as a seller are Etsy and Zazzle. They make it super easy to list the items you create.
Plus, if you use the right keywords, your items will show not only in searches on the platform but in Google as well. This is great for your shop as it will expose your items to more potential customers.
The following are some of my favorite shops on Etsy and Zazzle to help inspire you to create your own shop. Of course, you shouldn’t copy their products. But they can help inspire the types of products you create or the way you set up your shop sections or categories.

ILovePrintable
If you love printable wall art, you will love this shop. These instantly downloadable designs make it easy to deliver products to customers with out any additional work from you. You can follow their example by making the most commonly used sizes instantly downloadable but offer to email additional sizes upon request.
This means that most sales will be completed automatically but you can also make sales to customers who want a unique size. You can have additional business while still being mostly passive.
The Pink Schoolhouse
I love how this Zazzle shop really niched down. There are so many items you can put your designs on using Zazzle. But if you have just a hodge podge of items, you are not very memorable and it’s hard to get people to recommend your shop or come back to it.
By focusing on items for students and teachers, this shop’s mission is clear. People will come back again and again for school supplies and gifts for teachers. The about section aslo helps you feel contected to the designer.
HeyPlannerGirlPrints
OK, so I know that 2020 is not the best year for planners in theory. I mean everything changed this year. Plans got cancelled and people had to change their goals and their work and pretty much everything.
But this is why printable planners are so great! With a printable planner, when things change you can just throw out the old page and print out a new one. You don’t have to worry about a messy and confusing planner because you can print out pages as you need them.
This shop opened this year for printable planners and it seems to be doing great. Maybe it can inspire you to open a planner shop.
Pangga Designs
This shop is a great example of utilizing both Collections and Categories in their Zazzle Shop. It’s a great way to organize your shop making your items easier to find for your customers.
For example, if you have lots of different birthday item themes, each theme can be a collection and then the category can be Birthday party supplies. You can have a separate category for say baby shower supplies and then holiday party items.
DigitalPlannerTools
Another idea for digital products is creating digital planners. These are planner pages that you open in your tablet and then use your stylus to write in. This is a growing industry as many people want to throw out their paper planners, but still like physically writing things down and decorating their planners with stickers and fun designs.
Digital planner and accessories design can be a great passive income business to create on Etsy. Definitely check out the functionality of existing planners first though so you know what the standard is.
Baby Creations
This is another example of a shop that doubled down on one niche and went deep. This shop is all about new baby events and items. It has everything you need for baby showers, birth announcements, baptism and christenings, and new baby gifts.
The great thing about Zazzle is that you can be really niche specific in one shop but also create multiple shops so you are not limited to creating things for only that theme. This allows you to make a whole range of items but keep each shop very specific but all under one Zazzle account.
This is definitely not so simple in say an Etsy shop. There you need multiple accounts for multiple shops.
sofianurseryart
This shop sells wall art specifically for nursery’s. This is another great niche to get into. These prints can be digitally downloaded for moms to frame and put up in their nurseries. It’s also great for Baby Shower gifts.
You can also put your art on other items like pillows or canvas using third party fulfillment like Printful which is basically like Zazzle printing your graphic on an item, but integrates seamlessly with Etsy. This makes even physical product sales on Etsy pretty passive.
I hope these shops help inspire you to create your own shop on one of these platforms. It can be a fun relatively passive side hustle for busy moms.
