Do you wish you had more time to read and then when you actually have a little time, you have no idea what to start? I feel you.
Reading is good for the mind and good for the soul. It gives knowledge, develops our emotional intelligence, gives us understanding, and entertains us. No matter how much reading I do, I always wish I had time for more.
The following are the books that are currently on my reading list. They are a mix of parenting, self help, and entertaining. Stick to the end to enter a giveaway to receive all the books listed here.
No Bad Kids: Toddler Discipline Without Shame
Let me give you a quote from the book description to explain why this book is on my list. "“No Bad Kids” provides a practical, indispensable tool for parents who are anticipating or experiencing those critical years when toddlers are developmentally obliged to test the limits of our patience and love."
If that isn't the most eloquent way to describe the terrible 2's and threenagers, I don't know what is. I'm looking to this book for some guidance to respond appropriately to my full on 2 year old.
Playing Big: Practical Wisdom for Women Who Want to Speak Up, Create, and Lead
This book is for women who want to figure out and go after their dreams. Tara Mohr is a working life coach who helps women find their inner passion, push through the negative self talk, and dare to live their best life.
She has been on CNN and the Today show and has been praised by the likes of Maria Shriver and Jillian Michaels. I found out about this book from a podcast and I can't wait to dive in.
Motherhood Comes Naturally (and Other Vicious Lies)
If you are a fan of the Scary Mommy blog, then you are sure to enjoy this book. Jill Smokler is the woman behind scarymommy.com and the New York Times bestseller Confessions of a Scary Mommy.
This series of essays continues in the vein of the first one with 20 truths about motherhood. If you are looking are a sense of camaraderie in the fact that motherhood isn't easy, then this book is for you.
Wife for Life: The Power to Succeed in Marriage
I've read this book before and I will read it again. I truly believe it's a book for every woman who is married or wants to be married. Ramona really breaks down what is important in a relationship in a fun and informative way. She speaks not only based on her own experience but also years of research. You need this book.
You don't have to take my word for it though. This book is winner of the Kirkus Indie Reader Discovery Awards, Reader's Favorite International Book Awards, Indie Excellence Book Awards, and USA Best Books Awards. Definitely add this to your list.
The Misadventures of the Laundry Hag: Skeletons in the Closet
This one is purely for entertainment. With a title like this how could you not be intrigued?! This is a whodunit mystery mixed with mom life mixed with a dysfunctional family. So basically it's just real life.
This book is one of many by Jennifer Hart. So, if you enjoy this one there are plenty of others to choose from to keep you entertained.
